The whisky and chocolate flight at Sake no Hana is priced at £29 per person and features three hand selected Japanese whiskies paired with chocolates created by the restaurant’s pastry team specifically to complement the complex flavours of each dram.
The whisky and chocolate flight follows Masataka Taketsuru, the man who spearheaded Japanese whisky production, through his career. Read more about Taketsuru here.
Nikka from the Barrel is paired with an Alto el Sol chocolate – both the blended whisky and Peruvian chocolate have rich aromas and fruity notes
Hibiki 17 is paired with a spiced kumquat and nutmeg ganache – the 72% Venezuelan chocolate enhances the strong spicy notes of the blended whisky
Nikka Yoichi is paired with a smoked salt ganache – the smokiness of the whisky is balanced by the smooth, silky flavour of the ganache
The bar will also be serving a large collection of over 30 whiskies including four of the rarest Japanese whiskies in the world not available anywhere else in the UK. These include Ichiro’s Hanyu The Joker, Karuizawa 1983 Geisha, Karuizawa 1989 and Hanyu (Silent) Ichiro’s Final Vintage.
Due to the rarity of the whiskies, Sake no Hana will only have one bottle of each available to order from the bar, and once the whole bottle has been poured will no longer be available.
