During the celebration of Sakura, an additional sake masterclass will be hosted on Saturday 13th May featuring a tasting of the exclusive Sakura Warrior nama-sake. This sake is brewed especially for the cherry blossom season and has been bought directly from Japan for Sake no Hana. It is unpasteurised, undiluted and unfiltered, making it a lively, vivid and expressive sake.
The half-day masterclass will offer an introduction to the history of Japan’s national drink, with a particular focus on how and when to drink it. Guests will try seven sakes and one umeshu, a traditional Japanese plum wine, followed by lunch. They will also receive a gift bag on departure, including a bottle of sake and a kikichoko ‘snake eye’ sake cup.
Hosted by Christine Parkinson, Group Head of Wine for Hakkasan Group, and Anthony Rose of the Independent and The Wine Gang and Co-Chair of the Tokyo International Sake Challenge, the class will begin at 10.15am and is priced at £65.
